LibriVox – fantastic place to find audiobooks
LibriVox provides free audiobooks from the public domain. There are several options for listening. The first step is to get the mp3 or ogg files into your own computer.

Librivox is a fantastic free service but I am sometimes disappointed by the quality of the voice recordings – whether it be the recording itself, or the narrator’s ability to bring life to the texts. Much better than using some electronic text-to-speech system, though!
