Angels & Airwave – Love, download for free

LOVE is the third studio album by Angels & Airwaves, which will be officially released worldwide on February 14, 2010 after being delayed from Christmas 2009. It will be released free of charge due to “corporate underwriting”. They began producing it in January 2009 but progress was slow due to Tom Delonge’s original band Blink-182 reuniting and going on tour. On February 10, Tom DeLonge posted a blog on Modlife stating that, “Angels and Airwaves is never going to go away”. This brought an end to any lingering rumors of a possible break-up of the band due to the reunion of Blink-182. In April 2009, Atom Willard joined Social Distortion.

Battlefield Heroes is a cartoon-style action game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE. The game features context-specific third- and first-person shooter perspectives. Heroes will be the first Battlefield game to be released under Electronic Arts’ new “Play 4 Free” model, which will see the game released for free with revenue generated from advertising and micropayments.

Coldplay to give away live album

Coldplay will give away a free live album on May 15 entitled “Left Right Left Right Left”.

Good morning. We’re pleased to announce that Coldplay will be giving away a live CD, LeftRightLeftRightLeft, at every remaining live show in 2009 (apart from festival shows). Starting with the band’s first North American tour date, at West Palm Beach in Florida on May 15th, every fan attending a show will be given a free copy of the nine-track CD, which won’t be available elsewhere. Also on May 15th, LeftRightLeftRightLeft will be made available as a free download right here at Coldplay.com, for all fans (and for the same time period).

According to the band, the give-away is meant as a recession-busting mark of gratitude to everyone who’s supported them: “Playing live is what we love. This album is a thank you to our fans – the people who give us a reason to do it and make it happen.”

The album was recorded over the past year in various cities around the world on the Viva La Vida tour.
